Hope you don’t have a tummy ache from eating too much turkey!

How was your Thanksgiving? If you don’t celebrate/are not in the US, tell me about a holiday you love!

happy thanksgiving!

I don’t go to work anymore. I work from home (trying to start my own business). But I still get angry when I don’t get coffee when I want.

flashback: need gluesticks

Drawn July 14, 2006

I tried to use one of my gluesticks the other day. It was all shriveled up and hard. I was going to make a joke here, but it was too inappropriate.

Instead you should go visit my new blog!

(re-post)

I know I’ve sucked at getting new comics made recently. Sorry.

duvetcover18

I fell in love with this duvet cover as soon as I saw it over on IHeart Organizing. Turns out, Jen from A Thousand Words created it from her son’s, artwork!

I’m going to give you the basic rundown of what she did, but be sure to visit her blog for the real step-by-step!

duvetcover06

First, Jen collected Daniel’s drawings and scanned them into the computer.

(BTW, these are Pokémon that Daniel invented, how awesome!)

duvetcover04

Jen cleaned them up on the computer. See her blog for details on this.

She then printed them out much bigger than the originals.

And traced them onto the duvet cover with a fabric pen.

And traced…

and traced some more…

and in the end, I think it was totally worth it! This is such a cool way to display kids’ art (or your own!) and makes such a neat personal item!

If you have kids and do this for them you probably get 72,000,000 awesome points. That’s how many points I would give my mom, anyhow.

I don’t know if I’m up for doing a whole duvet cover (besides, Daniel’s art is better than mine, and it’s not as cute when you’re 25 and draw stick figures all over your duvet cover), but I’m thinking I’d like to do a coffee cup border on some pillowcases! Maybe draw a spider or two onto Anthony’s pillowcase… Okay, that might be evil of me, but there are some really good possibilities!

Visit Jen!

What do you think? Would you be an awesome parent and do this with your kids’ art? How about drawing yourself a duvet cover?

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

a lost feather

This fox print is just beautiful. I love all the line work! I would never be patient enough to do that.

I’ve been following Sarah’s blog, A Lost Feather, for a few months now. I love her artwork, it’s so delicate! She’s a full-time artist, and really inspiring. In order to drum up some more business this holiday season, Sarah’s offering a print-at-home file of her “Girl and Wolves” print, and 10% off her Etsy shop in exchange for a blog post about her work [more info].

Well, I’d be more than happy to blog about her without any freebies, because, I mean, just look at this stuff!

It was really hard for me to choose a few favorites. Truth is, I’ve been oggling a few things in her shop since I stumbled on her blog. Everything is just too cute!

These teacups are so cute! I love them! I imagine myself drinking tea and writing in my tea notebook which I carried in my tea tote down to the tea shop.

Except we don’t have a tea shop, but that’s why I said imagine.

Nikon and notebooks? I’ll take 7. I have an obsession with notebooks and I love Nikons.

How adorable is this necklace? I LOVE wearable art!
