The other day I was on Etsy or Pinterest or something and I saw a poster that said “You’re the cream in my coffee,” which I’m sure was meant as a lovely sentiment. Except I frequently drink my coffee black, and while I like cream, I certainly don’t need it. Hence, these cards.
Also, I kind of like the message, “I love you, but I don’t need you.” Let your significant other know that they better damn well appreciate you this Valentine’s Day, because you can live without them. Wait… uhm… I mean… No, actually, that was what I meant. Carry on.

So, the other day I was at Target, and you know what I saw? An “I love you more than coffee” Valentine’s Day card. Pretty sure I came up with that in 2006. I mean, I know those “I love you more than ___” things are everywhere now, but they weren’t when I first drew it in 2006. Whatever. I’ve seen “I love you more than coffee” lots of places now anyhow (all over Etsy), hard to really claim it as my own (but I really did do it first, at least to my knowledge).
Anyhow, if you see THIS saying popping up everywhere in the future, just know that it was my witty brain that came up with it.
