WIP Wednesday – Twilight

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

twilight

I’m counting reading Twilight as a “project” because I have been very busy lately and haven’t had much time for crafting. Technically, I still have a plethora of unfinished projects, but they would look the same as the last time you saw them.

So, this is my WIP for this week. I will read it every day at lunch!

I’m only about three chapters in and not sure how I feel about it yet. I like Bella better than I did in the movies, but I still think Edward is a tool. Jacob’s not in it yet, but since the entire reason I ever watched the Twilight movies was for Taylor Lautner’s shirtlessness, I can’t imagine I will care much for his character in the books.

(obviously not my image, in case you thought I owned access hollywood)

I will report back upon completion.

WIP Wednesday – Blog Organization

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

carebear

This image is completely irrelevant to this post.

This is probably a really boring post for everyone except me. Sorry.

I am working on coming up with a blogging schedule, because schedules make me happy. I really, really like having a plan. So this is what I semi-started before, but didn’t think out well enough to really do:

Monday – Free day! Anything I want or nothing at all!

Tuesday – Illustration: Something simple and quick, a sketch

Wednesday – WIP Wednesday: Whatever project I’m in the middle of

Thursday – Free day! Anything I want or nothing at all!

Friday – Illustration: Either a cleaned-up version of what I drew earlier in the week, or something new

Saturday – Things I love on Etsy

Sunday – Free day! Anything I want or nothing at all!

I think having three “free” days is good because then I don’t feel obligated to come up with something each day, but can post giveaways and cools things I find, stuff about real life, or nothing at all if I’m too busy. I like having an organization to the blog, but even if I only get my four scheduled posts a week, that’s pretty good. Most weeks there will probably be more, but if I don’t have time for something every day, I should at least be able to get four things together for the week.

What do you do? Do you organize your blog? Are certain days for certain posts? Or do you mix it around and do whatever you feel like? Do you ever feel like you NEED a certain amount of organization to stay on track?

WIP Wednesday – Society6 Shop

society6

I actually started this a while ago, but haven’t posted about it because I’m not as far along as I would like. But you know what? Maybe if people know about it, I’ll feel like I actually need to complete and update this thing! That’s the idea anyhow.

So go visit my society6 store where you can buy large prints! It’s pretty cool, in my opinion. I have to rescan/color a lot of my art to get them in my society6 store because I never thought I’d be printing them larger than 4×6. Well, take my advice and always scan things at a really high resolution JUST IN CASE because it’s not very fun to redo work. I thought 300dpi would be fine, but when your original drawings are small, it’s not. Do it right the first time.

WIP Wednesday – Friendship Bracelets

WIP - Friendship Bracelets WIP - Friendship Bracelets

Seems like everyone is making friendship bracelets lately. It’s a good, easy, summer craft. I used to make really complicated ones when I was younger, but seem to have forgotten all but the basics at this point. I am thinking about making a few and putting them as freebies with orders, but this week is awfully busy at work and by the time I get home I don’t feel like doing anything. I will make an effort to make at least a few more though!

WIP - Mini Bookmarks WIP - Mini Notecards

Here’s a sneak peak of what’s coming soon! Mini bookmarks, and cute little note cards!

I am so excited to get these and share them with you!

They are being printed on recycled paper–which is another thing I’m working on. I’m phasing everything in my shop into being made from recycled paper (or at least as much as possible!) I have some fun things in store, so stay tuned!
