WIP Wednesday – Blog Organization
Wednesday, August 11th, 2010This image is completely irrelevant to this post.
This is probably a really boring post for everyone except me. Sorry.
I am working on coming up with a blogging schedule, because schedules make me happy. I really, really like having a plan. So this is what I semi-started before, but didn’t think out well enough to really do:
Monday – Free day! Anything I want or nothing at all!
Tuesday – Illustration: Something simple and quick, a sketch
Wednesday – WIP Wednesday: Whatever project I’m in the middle of
Thursday – Free day! Anything I want or nothing at all!
Friday – Illustration: Either a cleaned-up version of what I drew earlier in the week, or something new
Saturday – Things I love on Etsy
Sunday – Free day! Anything I want or nothing at all!
I think having three “free” days is good because then I don’t feel obligated to come up with something each day, but can post giveaways and cools things I find, stuff about real life, or nothing at all if I’m too busy. I like having an organization to the blog, but even if I only get my four scheduled posts a week, that’s pretty good. Most weeks there will probably be more, but if I don’t have time for something every day, I should at least be able to get four things together for the week.
What do you do? Do you organize your blog? Are certain days for certain posts? Or do you mix it around and do whatever you feel like? Do you ever feel like you NEED a certain amount of organization to stay on track?
WIP Wednesday – Blog Re-Design!
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010Most of you probably view my blog in a reader (I do too!), so here’s what my blog now looks like! Pretty!
I still need to tweak a few things, but I think everything is working and it’s much less busy than the old layout.
Also, it should fit on as low of a resolution as 1024×768, so will hopefully be a little more accessible to people. My resolution is obviously much higher, as demonstrated by the big green areas to each side of the content. I forget that not everyone sees things as I do.
I’m on a huge organizational kick right now. Besides my blog, I’ve also started organizing all my documents (which mainly consists of renaming and filing artwork so everything is in the same name format) and I still need to organize my flickr account. I should probably organize my bookmarks while I’m at it! I just add pages I like and haven’t organized anything in years.
WIP Wednesday – Workspace & Website

I think I finally managed to get my dry-erase boards on my wall semi-permanently.
Hopefully they won’t fall down this time.
I had used sticky tack in the past and the boards would fall off the wall in the middle of the night and scare the hell out of me!
This time I used these cool velco-esque removable things.
I also framed some of my art!
I need other peoples’ art for my walls too.
It’s kind of weird to only have your own artwork, you know?
Seems pretentious.
“Ohai, I am the greatest artist evar and I only look at my own artwork.”
Obviously I need YOUR artwork, so hit me up if you want to swap or something.
I can’t wait to have my own REAL office space in my own apartment!
It will happen soon!
I hope.
PS. Please bear with me as I redesign my blog over the next few days!
introduction/about me post
Saturday, April 10th, 2010Hey everyone!
I came across Lovely Clusters (which is an awesome blog) who made the Lovely Blogger List, and it seems like a great idea (plus I’ve never properly introduced myself), so here I go! Jumping on the bandwagon…

I’m Erin, aka eef. I’m 24 (sure don’t look it, do I?) and I live in Indiana. I like coffee, tea, books, vampires, and traveling.
I make all sorts of things; I’m pretty schizophrenic when it comes to crafting! I crochet, I bind books, I spin yarn, I make block prints, I do other stuff too! It all just depends on the day of the week and the time of day and how much sugar I’ve had. I don’t have a degree in anything artsy, my BA was in Communication Studies which means I talk nonstop. I did however, participate in 4-H for 10 years, which is where I developed my photography skills (that and my mom was a photojournalist), and learned to do some pretty cool stuff. Mostly though, my crafty-ness was self-taught.
(Please excuse the terrible webcam photos! I hate having my photo taken and therefore have nothing recent except these.)

For two years I lived in Garmisch, Germany, which is in the Alps and right at the base of Germany’s tallest mountain, the Zugspitze!
I left this to come back to Indiana? Oi!

While I lived in Germany I traveled to 14 other countries. I have the travel bug and even though I’m back in the states, I don’t plan on staying put for too long! I might not be jetting off to Egypt (again), but I’ll keep hitting up new cities and doing exciting things!

When I’m not traveling, I’m making things. I love to create! As mentioned above, I’m a schizophrenic crafter and I want to try everything. I love bright colors and fun designs. My “signature” style is messy (on purpose) and bright. I love creating characters (and things with character) and adding personality to everything I make!
