Yesterday I attended the Feast of Lanterns because my friend Lori told me about it. She had a booth there and I bought an awesome cup from her. I also ate some really tasty food and had a great time walking around and being out of the house!

This bird was so crazy! He kept spinning his head around and then puffing up. The woman said it was because he was happy, but I just think this bird was nuts.

I bought a great cup from Lori which I will have to take a photo of. I also got some great smelling soap from Body Eclectic Skincare which was the booth next door. I really love Castor/Pollux which is chocolate/vanilla and Nashira which is cinnamon, cardamom and cloves.
You can visit my friend Lori’s blog
and also her Etsy shop, Fanfare and Foofaraw, if you want to buy some of her awesome pottery!

mini greeting cards!

comic2_002

Okay, I don’t really puke them out. I’m not a magician.

This is one of the things I was super-excited about! I am really happy with how these turned out! It’s probably hard to tell much about them in these pics–sorry about that!
I’ve had a really busy weekend and it’s nearly bedtime, so this is as good as it’s going to get for right now. I will try and get better photos and get them listed in the shop this week.

I am also excited because Anthony starts his job tomorrow, and soon we will be moving into our own place! We found an apartment complex we really like, although it’s more than we’d like to spend. It’s really just a trade-off: good location and reasonable commutes, but small space and higher rent; or cheap, large apartment where we have to drive to everything and one of us has a long commute. We’re leaning towards convenience with a higher price tag, because it’s still affordable, and we really like being able to walk to things. Also, I will go crazy if I have to drive an hour each way for much longer!

my awesome idea – spoonflower fabric!

fabric_001

Remember before when I went all crazy and scared my few blog readers away? Well my “best” idea was getting fabric made! I’ve mentioned this before, but now I finally have something to show you!

Cute cupcakes! And coffee cups! I think these would make great pajama pants or little pouches! You can buy these designs on the Spoonflower website! I am yelling a lot!

No, but really, I am very excited about this, and plan to make myself some cute coffee and cupcake boxers or something. Or have someone who can actually sew make them for me. Because I am really bad at sewing.

If you like seeing me crazy, here are some more pics. Yes, I get really bored. And I’m weird. No, this fabric is not edible.

WIP Wednesday – Friendship Bracelets

WIP - Friendship Bracelets WIP - Friendship Bracelets

Seems like everyone is making friendship bracelets lately. It’s a good, easy, summer craft. I used to make really complicated ones when I was younger, but seem to have forgotten all but the basics at this point. I am thinking about making a few and putting them as freebies with orders, but this week is awfully busy at work and by the time I get home I don’t feel like doing anything. I will make an effort to make at least a few more though!

Crafternoon – Sleepy Cat Plush

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Picture 041
Guess what I made?

Picture 047
Yeah, that’s right. It’s an ugly cat.

You mad?

Yesterday I got together with my friends Nich and Lori for Crafternoon! It had been a LONG time since we’d had one (well, they may have had them without me when I didn’t live here), and it was a lot of fun.

I made this silly little cat! I just made him up as I went along and wasn’t sure which order things should be sewn in. There are some definite things I would change in future plushies, but I think he turned out pretty cute! He has to wear that scarf though, or his head flops over. It’s hard to turn drawings into plushies!

I think he’ll look cute next to my scary green cat. The one my boyfriend hates. I should make a huge cat army. That would be pretty cool.
